i havent posted in a bit....
ive been character designin and doin storyboardin lately..
i take a break inbetween and sleepless nights and i come up with my own character designs.
i have ideas. story maybe.. here are few design and finish character designs of some kid story i have brewin..
all i can say is i refrenece alot of kids children storybooks and movies. i see a mix of where the wild things are... some refrenece of the boys in peter pan lostboys and lord of the flys and are gang (little rascals)

back on my shirt designing. gotta pay bills right! well im takin all old and useless images and making shirt designing and posting up on cafexpress.com i think thats what its called. but i will have a shop and have a link for folks to view and purchase. after awhile watchin people make money of my designs. why cant i? aleroart is a product for shirts, comics, logos and toy design! why not give the people what they want.

its been awhile....

well its been more then a couple of weeks since the comic show. My computer is shot from doing digital work. the positive is i draw more.alot of pen and ink drawings. hopefully have my new computer by the end of the month.
workin on a new contest that involves Sofa Kingdom and AMAZON. That goes for all the marbles in my pocket. If i fail... im putting Sofa kingdom on the back burnner and moving on. Its been more then 6 years and theres sooo much i can do that i can think of tryin with comic strip. More creative designing to come. More solo projects and more collaborations outside too.

GEARING UP FOR THE WIZ...

Been very busy with alot of things this past months. All relating to my art and gearing up for the 2009 Chicago Comic show.. WIZARDWORD.
With Sofa Kingdom art complete and sent out to the printers. Just waiting on the proof approval. Should have the books the first week of August. (crossing figures)

Speaking of the comic show. I will have posted where i will be sitting in Artist Alley.
I will have alot of aleroart product for sell. Shirts, orginal SOFA KINGDOM page art, Sketchbooks, prints and of course Sofa Kingdom 48 page story by Shariff Musallam and drawn by me. Also be taking request on commission art too!

Still freelancing on the side with character design as well as workin full time designing art on t-shirts.

friday rough design..did i mention quick!

my Friday is abit rush. i had an email about some possible gig of designing some chacter design for an agency out in cali. i was ask to do a mock up of some ol fashion Victorian art. i think i push more of the art nouveau. these are just some random quick rough design quick marker and drop color with some wall paper droppings.

im still coloring Sofa Kingdom's 48 page comic. im 20 pages deep!! come on page 48. (i can see it done!)
besides personal projects ive been doin the stuff that pays the bills. Avatars profiles, shirt designs for some local guys and character design for one model/ actress. i dont no to much about the young (cute) lady. But was told she was on television and will have her own blog page soon. Ive been character designing some cartoon look for her. Until i can get more info i will spread the word. In the mean time here are some designs pencil roughs and mock up design and final pix also her avatar. Ive notice i've had a huge gap from posting from the last time.... so im going to get back on track and blog my sketches and SOFA art when i get to the 30 mark for coloring. really sooooon!

vikings in the works... kinda!

knee deep in sketches and vector art. some shirt designing. flipfloppin clients with ideas. a 48pg Comicstrip needing to be complete before the end of June. im also pushin for a sketchbook in the mix too! Vikings are a story i have in mind for a comic. i have abunch of sketches and concept for an idea. just need a good story. or a followin to my idea for a story. here are a mix of the characters for the idea.

workin on shirt designs this past weekend and this following week.
ive been cranking out aleroart style characters and some of just random style. ive been workin out photos into vector art too. but just plan out drawing from photos and cartooning it up! i have to post more. this one piece is just of two budhist priests. other is of she hulk and wonder women.

USUAL SUSPECTS

Have been tighting up the loose ends for the comicbook Sofa kingdom as far as inking. i have started the coloring or (greyscaling for the book. we all know the usual characters... reef, ali, david and jetta comicstrip. But because its going to be a 48 page comic. i have more characters to draw for the story. a girl name "Nora" and the bully and his goons.

been designing an avatars page for my website. also gettin back on track with finishin inking Sofa Kingdom as well. ive been sketchin alot. this sketch posted is of my knock off Halo. im not big into the Halo video game but like the look of the character.

well here is the final rough of some character design used for some educational program in Cali. which one you ask? i dont no... im paid to draw not be a TMZ. my client asked for animals so i drew animals as shown from last blog. this time i drew them in pre-school atmosphere theme. sitting up right and smiling.. i threw in a second version of human kids and human teacher. im waiting for the responds from my client if its okay to color. i had fun drawin this. my table and floor are cover with sketch paper. i love drawin! i like makin my art into an employment. sometimes i dont get the right paying amount for my work. thats the life of character designers i suppose. but its what imagine as a child.
all the sketches i have layin around will be put together in my 2009 sketchbook titled "PAPER TRIAL"

15 to a shoe

hello peeps here in the world of blog land..
a new week has started. elbows deep in pencil shavings and eraser stubble everwhere. here is a piece that i had in the back of my head this past weekend. base off the nursery rhyme "there once was a lady who lived in a shoe" this was a take of a gym shoe. actually a little know fact. i come from a family of 15 kids. so this piece. means alot to me. not meant to be use for anything but fan art.

i dont push more of my style. its usually sofa kingdom round crunky style. i did the drawin less then 5 to 10 minutes. influence by Chuck Jones bugs bunny episodes with the mob gangsters.

i took that sketch from previous blogg posted and turned into a vector art design. im not big into drinkin like i should be. so i made the waitress serve water. nothing fancy. but fun. i love the colors. more sexy girl art on the way. as promise..

goin through some of my old files. i stumbled acrossed this illustration! i still get a kick out of this piece. it was for a client a few years ago of two women wrestling pulling hair and what not. dont know what this piece was used for. (or care to know!) all i know is i got paid for it and that was that. i like this piece. i know i would redraw this piece if i had the chance for today. im told i dont draw enough sexy women. i tend to push more towards cute silly cartoony look for the kids. one of my 2009 goals is to draw my sexy women so look out! of course it would be tasteful, not raunchy.

Sorry for my delayin responds. ive been writing a proposal for Gallery 37 to teach a class on putting a comic and children storybook together. im almost close to finishing up the writing. (wish me luck) on top of that non sense!! ive got a hold of being able to post on my http://www.aleroart.com site finally. check it out when you can. also ive been slackin with not postin on blogger with my art work on the regular. Also to add to my plate of to do. ive been workin on the last.. thats right the last 12 pages ink for the 48 page SOFA KINGDOM comic due for summer release. I also have a some new characters that ive been toyin with. All i can say is that there cute and you would agree? there bad ass too! i have to also add that they have kick-ass powers. Also not viewed theres like 6 others. scary i know. i will be posting soon.
