HAPPY 2012

wishing everyone a creative great 2012. Last years 2011 was great with comic shows and art shows. Alot of fun projects to come and be part of. Make even more friends and hope for more safe travels. This year will be even better.

hasnt blog in forever. Please follow me @aleroart twitter for updates. completing some iphone app art and doing alot of flat and digital coloring for artist. more info will be posted with that about the two. this post is just what ive been playin with an idea from my sketch pad and wanted to get it out. its still in rough color form i just wanted to show my process. Keepin busy is my goal and postin more too. happy summer.

HAPPY FREE COMICBOOK DAY 2011

ALEROART C2E2

spending the weekend downtown Chicago McCormick place at C2E2 comic show. I will be in artist alley with alot of talented artist. i will have Books for sale as well as prints and button pins .Set up at M5 in artist alley Come by for laughs and sketches too!
i hope to run into old friends and make new ones.

wrappin the 2010 to start fresh for 2011..
started and mid complete two comics for C2E2. One co-created Sofa Kingdom with half of the art pencil and ink complete other is a Viking comic i completed 24 pages this pass october at a 24hour comic. which is over due for a title but stuck at vikings still!

weekend sketching..
my good pal sacha http://www.sachaborisich.com was schooling me in manga studio and i wanted to play with some art.
this piece was drawin in manga studio and colored in photoshop.
total hour or so to put together. nothing fancy but fun. no over thinking. just producting thats all.
ive never drew aquaman before. but plan to with new samples for up and coming comicshows.

24 hr comic completed!!

This pass weekend i was in my first 24 hr comic. Drawing from noon to noon. Im sure u get the idea. But havin to draw 24 pages plus cover (25 pages total)
I completed my comic in 20 hrs. Ive learned alot on drawing on the spot and storys. I by no means a writer. But i will fight tooth and nail sayin that im a storyteller with pictures. I rely to much on others for ideas and push away the idea that i can come up with my own ideas. This 24 hr event taught me alot on myself and confidents. Im not sayin what i completed was DARK KNGHT material or Alan Moore status. I took an idea of from a sketch and just drew out a story. In final i will self publish and print it. Most of the work is complete. Its drawn i just have to rewrite add words and color and tone to the pages. I will do more 24 hr comics in the future.
